Everybody’s Blogging For the Weekend: Labor Day Is Upon Us

Phew, what a first week. If you missed anything, I recommend checking out our Jay Mariotti coverage, Craig Sager’s tales of yesteryear, Mike Cavic’s left testicle, Tommie Harris’s dance moves, Mike Ditka bloggin‘ and Pacman’s reinstatement.
College football keeps rolling along in its opening weekend, the Cubs are at home against the Phillies and the White Sox are at Fenway Park to take on the Red Sox.
And what does Labor Day weekend bring us here in the fine city of Chicago? Taste of Polonia in Jefferson Park, of course. Here’s a succinct description from Metromix:
Dine on such dishes as pierogi, Polish sausage, sauerkraut, kabobs, pizza, hot dogs and beer at this annual cultural celebration of Polish traditions, where Polish and American bands play everything from rock to blues to polka music on three main stages. Also features costumed folk dancers, kids’ activities, a Sunday mass, arts and crafts, and more. Billed “the largest ethnic fest in Chicago,” the outdoor festival takes place on Lawrence Avenue between Milwaukee Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway.
I’m totally going for the arts and crafts.
For now, there will be no weekend blogging around these parts, so check back Tuesday morning … when you’re five pounds heavier.
