Brett Favre is having himself a bit of mini-controversy … and I’m loving every minute of it. I’ve waited my whole life for Favre to impugn his reputation. Instead, he’s been trucking along, playing the game with the love of a child and the scruff of an alcoholic and the jeans of a Sarah Palin voter.

Finally, finally, Favre is earning the contempt I have always known he truly deserved. The latest bit comes via Pro Football Talk. LeRoy Butler is spilling beans, sort of:

First, Butler said that he doesn’t think Favre initiated the conversation with the Lions.  “Brett didn’t do a whole lot of calling around,” Butler said.  “People called him, and he loves to talk and the phone was passed around.”

Second, Butler suggested that Liongate is just the tip of the cheeseberg. He said there are “other stories that are going to come out” regarding Favre. “This is just the beginning,” Butler said.  “This is only the smallest one.”

Ooh, like what?! The Peter King stories are true? John Madden is actually his father? He put a dead horse’s head in Aaron Rodgers’s bed? I HAVE TO KNOW, LEROY. TELL ME NOW.
