Blackhawks Game At Wrigley Field Looms Ever Closer
Important news update you probably want to know about: NHL commissioner Gary Bettman is talking about the Blackhawks-Red Wings game at Wrigley on New Year’s Day, and he gave away a few ticketing details in the interim (HT: Bleed Cubbie Blue).
The essence is this: Rather than a “massive public sale” of tickets like last year’s game in Buffalo, the NHL is going to sell tickets to the 14,000 Blackhawks season ticket-holders first. That means that if you are a season ticket-holder, you’re in great shape. If not, there are still a bunch of seats left over — Wrigley seats about 41,000. There is no word on whether Cubs season ticket holders will have next crack at the sale.
Other than that, Bettman’s excited, even though he’s worried about “sightline issues.” Sightlines — you mean the big poles that stick out from the grandstand and block people’s views? Nevermind those, Gary. Those people have learned to crane their necks.
Anyway, I don’t mean to gloat, but I am a season ticket-holder, and, actually, yes I do. I do mean to gloat. I point and laugh at those of you who didn’t waste your money on hockey season tickets. Ha! If only this weren’t the Internet you would see pointing! You would feel my derision! As it is, you’ll just have to use your imagination.
