Gus Johnson’s Yipping and Yelping Now Part Of Big Ten Network
When I moved into my apartment last winter, I opted for RCN here in Chicago. Comcast and the Big Ten were entangled in a money dispute over the Big Ten Network, and I wanted to watch IU basketball. (They’ve since patched things up and Comcast now has BTN.)
But the RCN people told me they didn’t service my building. I was only wired for Comcast. Bummer. Then Comcast came out and told me I wasn’t wired for Comcast. Confusion!?!? I currently don’t have a television in my apartment because of this; I just stare at a wall and pretend I’m watching sports. (It’s fun! Really!)
KIDDING. RCN came back out, fixed the problem somehow and I got to see Mike Hall in HD all winter. And now I’ll be able to see Gus Johnson — he of enthusiastic, fun-loving basketball calling — this winter, as he just inked a deal with BTN. This is good news, because Gus Johnson rocks my socks off. Apparently, this move was made to go after the young crowd. Consider me duped.
In sum, I really just used this post to talk about my cable issues, which I know you were all dying to hear about.
