This isn’t a full review — we hope to do something like that in the future — but it is a full endorsement: Go pre-order the Free Darko book — officially titled Free Darko Presents … The Macrophenomenal Pro Basketball Almanac — now. (The book’s official release is Nov. 11.)

You don’t need to believe me, though. Helpfully, the book now has its own Web site, which gives you a preview of the illustrations, essays, graphs, and style guides that runneth over in the book’s printed pages. The FD gents were nice enough to send us a review copy of the book, but the site prevents me from having to try to describe the Kobe Bryant illustration, for example, or that Leandro Barbosa’s subhead is “Fast, Nice, and Good At Basketball.” (His illustration is amazing, too.) Everything I’ve read — and I’d say I’m two-thirds finished — has been utterly brilliant. It’s a must-read.

Anyway, if you’re reading us, you probably already know about FD, but on the off-chance you don’t, go support people more talented than you. You will not be disappointed.
