Be Glad You Didn’t Wait In Line For This
Long lines at the voting booth this morning. Such is the price of democracy. Such is also the price of a Patrick Kane figurine, which they handed out at the Blackhawks game last night to the first 10,000 fans inside the gate.
Because I prefer “having dinner” to “acquiring a Patrick Kane doll,” I did not make it in time, but some drunk dudes next to my buddies did. The above is what they received. They were trying to sell it for like $10, which seems a fair price, but as it wasn’t even a bobblehead, I was willing to go no higher than five. Both sides walked away from the table before a deal could be reached.
As for the Blackhawks themselves, last night was without question their best all-around game in 2008. They scored six goals, and the Avalanche only scored two. Thus, the Blackhawks won. This is the sort of hockey analysis you can’t get anywhere else.
