Bulls Start Circus Trip As Expected
A few observations from watching the first half of the Bulls game last night:
– Interior defense ain’t going so hot right now. Brandon Roy slashed and scored at ease; Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla were getting great position. (Aside: I like Rudy Fernandez’s game. I like it a lot. Actually that whole Blazer team is a joy to watch, save for maybe Channing Frye.) This defensive struggle was apparent Tuesday night in LA too, as Pau Gasol went for 18 … in the first quarter. (!!!)
– Offensively, it was a lot of here Derrick, take the ball and just drive or shoot or something. It was also a lot of Ben Gordon doing the same thing. No sets, no rhythm, just a lot of one-on-one basketball.
– Did I mention they were getting killed? because they were getting killed.
So yeah, went to bed at half when they were getting trounced 62-37. Oh well, they’re in the midst of the dreaded circus trip, it’s to be expected. Couldn’t fall asleep, flipped on the game again and um, the Bulls were down 900-67. OK, it was actually something like 106-62, but you get the point.
Five more games on this trip. I just hope they get a least one win, for fear Vinny Del Negro will start messing up that beautiful hair of his on the sideline.
