You’ll Never Believe This One: Brett Favre Unsure Of Status After This Year
All things told, the Brett Fave Experience is going pretty well this year for the Jets. He’s hurled an impressive six touchdowns against the Cardinals in Week 4 and has 18 overall (as opposed to 12 picks) and he’s guided them to a 7-3 record atop the AFC East. Not too shabby for an old guy.
Sure been fun for Jets fans to watch this year. But will the Brett Favre Train keep rumbling along in New York? Will Favre hang up the cleats for good after this season? Well, you guessed it: he just doesn’t know (via FanHouse).
“I haven’t even thought about it,” Favre said when the prospect of playing in 2009 came up. “I have people - friends, family - who ask me all the time about next year. The answer I give them, which is the honest answer, is I really don’t know. To be totally honest with you, I really don’t care. What I care about is trying to beat Tennessee.”
Really? Brett Favre, a guy who perhaps has pondered his retirement more than anyone else in the history of employment, hasn’t “even thought about it.” I find this hard to believe.
What I do not find hard to believe is that Favre hasn’t made a decision yet. I look forward to writing about his indecision no more than 30 times during the offseason. Thanks for the fodder, Brett.
