Harassing Shaquille O’Neal On Twitter Could Land You A Phone Call From The Big Aristotle
Shaq’s Twitter account has been all the rage these days. First, people were wondering whether or not some randy tweeting his face off was actually Shaq or not (he was not). In response, the Daddy got online and started getting loose on social media’s new method of communication, sending the blogosphere into an uproar.
And it’s about to get bigger now, as it appears the Bryant Blount (aka lord_b) has investigated the real Shaq via twittered/tweeted/whatevs enough to land a phone call from Superman himself.
After first hearing about Shaq’s presence on Twitter, Blount decided to follow him. A few hours later, much to Blount’s surprise, Shaq followed him back. Skeptical, Blount tweeted “shaq has requested to follow me…boy is he gonna be disappointed.”
A bit later, he added “still 30% skeptical about shaq tweeting…will continue to investigate and report back with any new findings.” Low and behold, Shaq responded at 1am (the guy doesn’t appear to sleep based on his tweets), “LORD B, DNT B SKEPTICAL, ITS ME GIMME A NUMBER I WILL CALL U.”
Long story short, Byron posted his phone number and was sitting at work when “PRIVATE” popped up on his cell phone. Sure ’nuff, it was the Daddy — or someone who really sounded like Shaq — on the other line, and they talked for “3-4 minutes” about Twitter, the fake O’Neal account and Lord B’s home city in Connecticut, which Shaq apparently has ties to.
So, the lessons as always are: 1) Shaq is the coolest athlete to ever walk the planet (Wilt Chamberlain’s, ahem, status aside) and 2) always, always, always stalk your favorite celebrities, because it will almost inevitably play out to a cool phone call that you’ll be able to tell your children and grandchildren about from the comfort of your prison cell.
