Oh Crap Oh Crap: Derrick Rose Injured With Knife … In Bed

If there’s been a single worry attached to Derrick Rose’s more-than-amazing early season display for the Bulls, it’s been the string of little injuries — a sore back here, a tweaked knee there — that seem to be the sign of a player with minor, nagging physical issues. Rose was notoriously unhealthy during his college career. He used to eat gummy bears for lunch, for example. All of that stuff worries me.

And then, of course, there’s this:

Derrick Rose isn’t practicing Monday after needing 10 stitches to close a gash in his arm. The Bulls said Rose suffered the injury when he rolled over onto a knife he was using to carve an apple while in bed. The injury isn’t considered serious. Rose could play Tuesday at home against the Knicks. The news was first reported by David Schuster of WSCR-670 AM.

Awesome! There are two reactions here, and neither of them are particularly fun:

1. No way this is an actual apple injury. The Bulls are lying. WHO STABBED DERRICK ROSE AND WHY?! I WANT ANSWERS!!

2. Why does Derrick Rose have an apple in his bed? Why does Derrick Rose have a f–king knife in his bed? Why doesn’t Derrick Rose hire someone to chop all of his food into tiny pieces so that he never suffers risk of food-related injury? This is silly.

Neither one bodes well for Bulls fans, but let’s hope the truth is closer to No. 2. The last thing I need right now is for Derrick Rose to become the next Plaxico Burress. Sigh.

Ok, po'ed girlfriend or out partying - sounds like someone on the Cubs. Not buying it for a minute. Besides, knives lay flat even he was stupid enough to pull this. Maybe he can be a spokesman for Rachel Ray knives. C'mon - couldn't come up with a better story? My five year old could!

if you write derrick rose on a piece of paper and hold it up to a mirror it reads... PLEXICO BURRESS! ha ha ha. actually, i just read online that it was plax trying to get the heat of off his team.
