Danica Patrick Should Just Tell Cops She Was Practicing
Danica Patrick’s job is to drive very fast, albeit in a controlled fashion. However, just because she races cars for a living, she’s not allowed total autonomy on the highways of America. But you might think based on her track record, (pun intended, thank you) she feels a little differently.
And yesterday, she was busted for speeding, for the second time in 2008.
Cops confirm Patrick was busted earlier this month in Scottsdale, Ariz. for driving 54 in a 35 — 19 over the speed limit — which bested her last run-in with the fuzz where she was going 57 in a 40 — only 17 over.
Danica received a citation and is due in court at the beginning of January.
So, the good news is that she wasn’t driving that fast. The bad news is that, again, it’s the second time. And because of that, she’s not getting off with a warning. But I imagine she can probably cough up a little cash for a decent lawyer, which means she’ll end up paying like a $200 fine to get it expunged or something ridiculous that wouldn’t actually happen to any of us.
It is kind of amazing though, to see athletes constantly getting in trouble for speeding; it makes little to ABSOLUTELY ZERO sense to me that you wouldn’t just pay someone to drive for you. This applies tenfold when said athletes have been drinking. At least Patrick wasn’t under the influence, but if you spend all day making left hand turns and getting paid for it, are you really that thrilled about hopping in your own car to drive around? See? Makes no sense.

And, if you have the money, who cares if you get a small fine from time2time? As long as you don't lose your license, saving time is money.
