Blackhawks Play ‘Quick Pix’; Blackhawks Fans Throw Hard Hats On Ice
Our own Sarah Spain hunted down Adam Burish and Brent Seabrook, bound and gagged them, and forced them to look at photos and play a little word association game.
Well, OK, it didn’t exactly go like that. It went more like this:
As for the Hawks on the ice, Friday night Jonathan Toews notched the first hat trick of his young career in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins. As his third goal rung home, Hawks fans threw hard hats onto the ice because it was “Free Hard Hat Night” at the United Center.* Talk about your all-time backfires. At least it wasn’t commemorative brick night.
Don’t worry, though. The Ice Crew was there in a pinch:
*Fans actually threw these hard hats onto the ice earlier in the game when it was believed Toews scored his third goal. But that goal was called back. But then he scored again. So yeah: lots of construction helmets on the ice.
