Quotable:
“Just before his client signed with Buffalo, Drew Rosenaus, Terrell Owens’s agent, said that there were ’several teams’ interested in signing Owens. No disrespect to Buffalo intended, but if that were true, then why sign with Buffalo?
I can see why Buffalo would want Owens, but why would Owens want Buffalo? Even with him, I don’t think a lot of people will be picking Buffalo as a Super Bowl team. Given the strength of that division, I don’t know if they’ll even be a popular pick for the playoffs. Clearly, this was not a “I just want to win a ring” signing.
Is there a great quarterback in Buffalo who can help Owens boost his stats? No. I like Trent Edwards, and I think he can develop into a fine quarterback, but there’s no reason to believe that he’s a great quarterback at this very moment.
Is it a big media market that gives him a lot of media exposure and endorsement opportunities? No, no it isn’t.
Was it the weather that attracted him? Unlikely.
So why Buffalo? Because maybe there was no one else? “ – MJD
