Let’s Play A Game Where You Guess What This Wrigley Field Tattoo Really Means

By Will Brinson

OK, you can see the tattoo right?

Now that you’ve properly acclimated yourself, (taken by MPS’ own Sarah Spain at Wrigley Field yesterday), I would ask you: “What about said tat makes it even slightly less reprehensible than the chain and backwards hat that are accompanying it?”

And your answer would be … MEH? Exactly. That’s because, as far as I can tell, this is simply a tattoo of Wrigley Field gone horribly, horribly wrong. Note that the “CUBS WIN!” on the LED screen is complete, as is the sign that stands out front of Wrigley. Those parts are actually pretty cool (if you like tats anyway).

But what about the rest of the ink? I notice that there are no people (odd on a day in which the Cubs win, no?) and that there is no sort of rationale surrounding the outskirts of this shot of Wrigley, other than two things that I can think of:

1) The guy is a total wuss. He started getting the tattoo done after a day game, obviously, and when he came-to, he realized he’d been jabbed with a needle 4,542 times already and that his back was in horrifying pain. He then ran away from the tattoo parlor and is just going to deal with the fact that he has a half-assed tattoo of Wrigley Field on his back.

2) He ran out of money, not realizing that such an endeavor would cost upwards of a $1,000 and now, by the basic principles of economics, has to deal with a half-assed tattoo of Wrigley Field on his back. Either way, dude, get some laser surgery to remove those alien antennas from the top of the field or get the balls/money necessary to go back in the parlor and get this puppy finished. That way you can be a total freakshow.

A point I left out (that two commenters have brought up) because I was too busy mocking the guy: tattoos this large are usually done in separate parts. But, um, yeah, still: look at that thing.
