Everybody’s Blogging For The Weekend: Will Bears Sink Even Lower?
At this point, the playoffs are not going to happen for the Bears. The latest projections have their playoff hopes hovering around .14 percent.
So what are they playing for at this point in the season then? Pride. Dignity. Morale. Love Smith’s job.
In that sense, Sunday’s matchup with the Rams might actually mean something. This is because the Rams are really bad. They are 1-10. And if the bad Bears lose to the even-worse Rams, the criticism will only mount. The Rams have the 28th-ranked defense in the league and the 24th-ranked offense.
This is a game the Bears, for as bad as they’ve played, should win. But what if they don’t? What if the Rams put it together Sunday afternoon at Solider Field and put up some points? What if Jay Cutler throws a few picks? What happens then?
Those calls to Bill Cowher might actually become real.
It’s the weekend. Embrace it.
