So, What Happened To The Cat At Wrigley?
Yesterday, I wondered what happened to the cat that scampered around on Wrigley Field. Did it jump on Sarah Cubfan’s lap, and scratch her Mark Prior t-shirt jersey? Did it make its way out of the stadium and into Slugger’s, where it was provided milk in a saucer for all its troubles? Did a crazy cat lady scoop it up on Waveland and add it to her collection?
No, no and no. The cat is at a shelter now.
The Wrigley Field cat that ran onto the field during the fourth inning of Tuesday night’s Cubs-Reds game is safe and sound in a local animal shelter, a Cubs spokesman said Wednesday.
A veterinarian who was at the game took the cat after it was captured by a security guard and deposited tail-first into the box seats down the left field line.
Cubs spokesman Peter Chase said the cat was checked out after several employees were bitten or clawed while trying to corral it. He had no update on the results of the exam.
I think this is the part where I tell you to remember to have your pets spayed and neutered.

So, I knew there was that whole black cat Ron Santo incident at Shea back in ‘69, but I was not privy to the fact that cats actually chill out in Shea like, for their home. I suppose it’s a sort of cutesy, endearing quality to the stadium — unlike the loud airplanes.
