Conrad Krutwig Commits

By Dan Poneman

6 foot 6 senior forward Conrad Krutwig of Jacobs High School verbally committed to Head Coach Dave Boots and the University of South Dakota of the Great West Conference. Krutwig chose to commit after taking a visit to the campus is Vermilion, South Dakota two weeks ago. Next year will be South Dakota’s first as a division one school.

“The state of the art dome that the Coyote’s play in, the chance to play early in his career in a brand new conference, and the coaching staff were all factors in Conrad’s decision. USD has an enrolment of over nine thousand students and has recently moved from the Division 2 level where Coach Boots had a record of 423-163 for a winning percentage of .722. Conrad felt that the coaching staff and the players were the right fit for him, and that the nationally ranked university offered him a chance to earn a quality college education,” stated his father via e-mail.”

Conrad is one of the most underrated and under appreciated players state wide. He was a major part of a Jacobs team that won a ton of games over the past few years, and he was a key player for a stacked Illinois Wolves team on the AAU circuit. The senior forward can mix it up outside and take the ball to the hoop or hit the open jumper, as well as possessing great skill and power around the basket. He is definitely a player that will have a stellar career at USD.
