Thursday Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane and his cousin, James, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and were sentenced to one year conditional discharge.
Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane and his cousin, James, have pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in the alleged assault of a Buffalo, NY cab driver in the early morning hours of August 9. On August 19 the original charge of second-degree robbery was dismissed, but both Kane and his cousin were indicted on charges of third-degree assault and theft of services. Today, the two cousins pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct and, in addition to a one-year conditional discharge sentence, the two were ordered to apologize to the cab driver. Assuming the two young men stay out of trouble for a year, they'll avoid any penalties.
Back on August 9, cab driver Jan Radecki accused Kane and his cousin of assaulting him and stealing back the $15 fare they had paid when Radecki didn't give them 20 cents change for their $13.80 cab ride. Shortly after filing the police report, Radecki began to back off his previous statements, claiming that the incident was "blown out of proportion."
