In the final minutes of the trading deadline, White Sox general manager Ken Williams pulled a 180 by trading veteran slugger Jim Thome to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team also shipped pitcher Jose Contreras to the Colorado Rockies.
Late Monday night Jim Thome agreed to waive his no-trade clause and was shipped from the Chicago White Sox to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The deal sends Thome and cash to LA for infielder Justin Fuller. In an interesting deal Thome is back in the National League and will play first base for the Dodgers.
In other dealings the team has sent pitcher Jose Contreras to the Colorado Rockies for cash and pitcher Brandon Hynick.
