MOUTHPIECESPORTS personality Brian Dryfhout chats it up with Chicago Red Star rookie Michelle Wenino in this segment of "Bantering with Brian". Check out as Wenino discusses playing her first year of professional soccer in Chicago.
Age: 22
Occupation: Professional Soccer Player for the Chicago Red Stars
Location: Chicago, IL
Hometown: Aurora, CO
College & Degree: University of Colorado at Boulder - working towards a degree in Finance
Brian Dryfhout: What did it feel like to play the inaugural season for the Chicago Red Stars?
Michelle Wenino: I was very lucky to get a chance to play with the Chicago Red Stars for the inaugural season. It is definitely such an honor to be a part of a team in its very first year. Not many people can say they have done that. It is awesome to see how many people are already supporting us in the league.

BD: What has been your biggest accomplishment so far in your soccer career?
MW: So far, my biggest accomplishment has been the chance to be a part of this team with all these wonderful girls. I didn't see the field much, but just getting the chance of a lifetime is such an accomplishment in itself.

BD: If you didn't play professional soccer, what other profession would you want to try and why?
MW: I tend to go back and forth with what I would want to do. Once I complete my degree in Finance, I would like to be a financial advisor, but sometimes that doesn't sound very fun. I would love to own my own business or be a massage therapist someday.
BD: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
MW: I wish I was more organized. I tend to lose a lot of things because of my lack of organization. It would make my life a lot easier.

BD: Before games do you have a certain routine, or ritual you try to keep in order always on game days?
MW: I normally don't, but near the end of season I try to keep things very routine because of a little superstition I have.
BD: Who is your favorite athlete of all-time?
MW: Julie Foudy, because she is so well respected as a player, as well as her leadership. I really looked up to her when I was growing up as a player of the game.
BD: Have you ever "Googled" yourself?
MW: I hate to admit it but yes. I tend to google everything.

BD: Many soccer players deal with long-distance relationships. Do you have any advice or tips on keeping a long-distance relationship strong?
MW: The best way to keep a long distance relationship going strong is to keep in contact as much as you can whether it be with a significant other, family, or friend.
BD: Who is the craziest/funniest player on the Red Stars?
MW: Chioma Igwe. She is hilarious and she is such a free spirit. She always tend to make people laugh.
BD: Do you Twitter?
MW: I have a twitter account but I am horrible at twittering. I always forget that I have it. I'm just not good with keeping up with those things. http://twitter.com/17Michelle17

BD: Extra Credit - What CD are you embarrassed to admit you own?
MW: NSYNC, and yes I still listen to it :)
BD: Thanks Michelle and best of luck in the 2010 season.
